The answer to the Quiz o’ the Day:
Governor Deval Patrick. My mom wins!
Kate and I attended Men of Boston Cook for Women’s Health, which is a benefit for a couple of health centers in Dorchester. Many, many fantastic restaurants, and notable men from around the city serving up the food. It was, well…quite excellent. Dennis Lehane gave us some oyster risotto with caviar from No. 9 Park; Thomas Finneran served us some yummy salad from somewhere that I don’t remember; Jarrett Barrios hooked us up with some really yummy stuffed roasted red peppers from somewhere else; and Deval Patrick gave us the really good stuff — mac and cheese from Ashmont Grill.
The comment from Gov. Patrick about Kate and me being cute came when he handed her a plate of food, and she turned and handed it to me. The Governor asked if I was “the boyfriend”, and I said that I was apparently the table. And he thought that we were cute because of that, I guess. It was a lot funnier at the time, I think.
I also got a chance to make former Governor Michael Dukakis feel old, when I mentioned that as a teeny weenie little boy I had been in one of his gubernatorial campaign ads. Always a good time, that.

Actually, I think Gov. Patrick said that because we were sharing a plate of mac n’ cheese. After ~92 servings (of almost pure meat… can you guess why Ian is a fan?), I felt like half a plate was enough for me….
Or maybe he decided to be cheesy because he was assigned to the cheesiest food? (Sorry.)
