Lovely Sunday afternoon in New England. Mid 50′s outside, the sun is shining…
Just got back from a 5k (or so) run around MIT and along the river. I’ve been pretty consistently exercising every day for the past couple of months, and along with quitting smoking and eating better, I’m getting into something that’s disturbingly close to decent shape.
And you know what? It feels good. I still have a tough time with running, because I find that I get bored pretty easily, but I can do 3 or 3.5 miles without going totally bonkers. And thanks to a job that lets me take long long lunch breaks (because of the work that I do off-hours, no one can really complain if I take 2 hours at lunchtime), most days I can play basketball for 45 or 60 minutes, and still have time to run a couple of miles on top of weights and stretching. It’s a good thing.
And hey — I’ll bet when I get to Poultry Days this year, I won’t be the least in-shape guy on the team.
