Went to look at an apartment today, a 2-bedroom that’s right in my price range. Interesting place, actually.
Upsides:
* It’s a real 2-bedroom, and I’d be living there alone
* Really nice back porch
* A real washer and dryer, in the apartment (!)
* Lots of light, sort of a strange floorplan, but I kind of like it.
* Near Whole Foods in Fresh Pond, and near the places that frisbee tends to happen
Downsides:
* The ceilings are a little bit low, probably 8 feet, and I’m not short…
* The efficient way to get to Porter involves going under the train tracks, but the pedestrian underpass is closed while work is happening.
* The kitchen is pretty small. But it has a dishwasher, and that makes up for a lot!
I think I’m going to call the Cambridge Public Works folks in the morning, and see when the underpass is supposed to be back in service; other that that, it seems pretty sweet.
