Taz rightly pointed out that I’ve been extraordinarily quiet over the past week or so. Things have been crazy. Very crazy. Been busy, been running in circles.
The data center move went as well as could be hoped. I ended up being at work from 12 PM on Friday until around 6 PM on Saturday, straight through, but pretty much everything came right up. Considering the scope of the project, that’s actually just about what I expected. Sunday, then, was mostly spent tracking down little issues that arose along the way, or things that we discovered after the fact.
At this point, most of that has been taken care of. Thank god.
Oh, and dinner: dinner with my fam is always lovely. Also, I can’t say enough about the Ashmont Grill. The place is wonderful. Very, very good food, but not pretentious; much of their menu is slightly dressed up, well, grill food. My Reuben sandwich was excellent, though the mashed potatoes were a little bit cold. The grilled squid that we had as an appetizer (it was the special of the day) was very well done; I don’t think I’d ever had squid that wasn’t fried.
And the deserts….oh, heaven. Apple bread pudding with whipped cream…..mmmm. My mom’s espresso flan, though, was about the yummiest thing I’ve ever tasted.

flan is delicious.
grilled squid, huh? mmph. lack of seafood stores makes it difficult to cook seafood. and the nearest grocery store (i.e., the one I can bike to) is not so much into the seafood thing, although they did have some tasty looking trout the other day… wish i had some grilled squid though.
when you say data center move, this was a hardware move?
