Off to dinner with my mom in a few minutes, at the newly-restored Ashmont Grill in Dorchester. For most of my childhood, the Ashmont Grill was a pretty run-down, nay crappy, bar. Kind of a dive. Or at least I think it was, because I only went there once, and I was about 8 years old at the time.
It’s nice to be able to have an actual sit-down meal with mom once in a while. Almost grown-up or something.
Other than that — going crazy with work stuff. Busy, busy week. Hoping to write something intelligent soon, though.

how was the dinner? what’d you have? How’s the PhD student? hell, we’d even take something unintelligent at the moment…

The “old” Ashmont Grill may have been “creepy and crapy” but they had some of the best food in the area. Especially their Clam Chowder! However, I do love the “new” Ashmont Grill also. Haven’t had a chance to eat there yet, but I have been in there for a glass of wine. It is so beautiful in there! Wow! What a change! The wine was great too!
I will get a chance to sample the food this Sunday (11/6/05), its my birthday, and the Ashmont Grill is where I picked to celebrate!
